About me

Born in Russia and raised in the United Kingdom, Valerie Nanos is a self-taught artist who found her calling in Sarasota, Florida. With a passion for art pulsing through her veins, she took up the brush only three years ago, exploring the world of contemporary realism through the medium of oil paint and expressing her creativity through the bold strokes of abstract acrylics. Valerie's lineage is steeped in artistic excellence. Her great grandfather, Pavel Petrovich Chistyakov, was a master of his craft, a celebrated Russian artist and teacher (1832-1919) whose works grace the halls of some of the world's most prestigious museums, such as the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg and the Tretyakov Museum in Moscow. With this rich heritage, Valerie continues to push the boundaries of her own art, inviting us on a journey of self-discovery and endless possibilities. 

Specialing in creating unique and beautiful works of art, from oil paintings to abstract acrylic paintings. Rooting in the belief that art can bring joy and meaning to the lives of people everywhere, my mission is to help people explore and express their own creativity though my custom works. At my studio, I offer a wide variety of services and products. I offer private commissions, where I work with clients to create custom works of art tailored to their vision. I carry a variety of art supplies, and I’m always on the lookout for the latest and greatest materials and techniques. I also give lectures on art and its impact on society, and I’ve been known to host art shows in the area.
